This class is for you if you are a manual therapist looking to increase your comfort and skills with babies. You will gain practical techniques and strategies to implement immediately in your practice. Learn how Andy assesses and treats babies using common tension patterns.

A few common tension pattern examples:
“my baby is so strong, he held his head up right away”
“… is always arching their back, and throws their head back”
“… never opens their mouth wide enough to latch deeply”
“… is always squirming and grunting, it’s hard to dress them”
“… hates their carseat, or hates tummy time”
“… is always wanting to stand up”
“I noticed this flat spot on the head, but was told it was nothing”

Baby led bodywork isn’t just another assessment technique, it’s HOW to treat babies and make change by following their cues. This masterclass will cover techniques for common tension patterns, and for conditions such as tongue and lip ties, torticollis, plagiocephaly, latching support, and even colic/reflux. You will learn how to support distressed babies and parents, remain calm in intense situations, and how to provide treatment in any position or situation.Yes we will cover assessments, but you already know how to palpate. If you’ve made it here, you have probably already taken pediatric courses telling how to find the problem, but  might be lacking in how to solve it confidently.

Dr. Andy is a mama, chiropractor, and doula practicing in London, Ontario at Rebirth Wellness. She expanded her skills by combining the best techniques and education from her training in pediatric orofacial myofunctional therapy, speech language pathology, craniosacral therapy, visceral therapy, lactation, chiropractic, and physiotherapy courses. Her practice grew quickly through pediatric practitioner referrals. Over 60% of her patient load is babies less than 6 months old! The remainder is babies over 6 months, prenatal, postpartum, pediatrics, and a sprinkle of dads and grandparents. After supporting so many babies, various tension patterns commonly appear that correspond to their signs and symptoms. Figuring out how to treat these tension patterns on patients that can’t communicate or always cooperate is how Baby Led Bodywork came to be.

Expect at least a 2h class, but I have allotted up to 4h for questions. The course will be held over zoom, but if you are in the London area contact Andy if you’re interested in attending in person.
